Joy Martin is an American writer based in Cambridge, UK. She has just completed her first novel with the support of a grant from Arts Council England and under the mentorship of award-winning British poet, novelist and academic Ros Barber. She also writes creative, critical reviews and features about the arts for London-based Exeunt Magazine and The Stage, as well as being published in New York-based American Theatre magazine. She has a BSc with a double-major in English and Music Performance from Central Michigan University, a BA in English from the University of Cambridge and a MRes from The London Consortium, where her research explored links between the creative imagination and mindfulness in the works of Jane Austen. She has spent years working in various roles in publishing and the arts, along the way working for an arts and wellbeing charity, a literary agency and Arts Council England.
